Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” Since the inception of Gray Swan Financial Services (Pty) Ltd, we have allocated our time and profits to the Gray Swan Charitable Trust (GSCT).
Via our Trust, we make a meaningful difference in the lives of the less privileged. The sole purpose of the GSCT is to be a channel through which GraySwan and other companies or individuals can generously give to make a difference.
We know that the finest way to ensure sustainable giving is to not only allocate funds but to personally be involved in our projects. Our employees and our Trustees get to know those who benefit from the GSCT’s funding; those who steward their money, and those who, daily, are committed to going into broken places of communities to restore hope and life.
When the less privileged have a name, a face, a dream, one realises that when you have more than you need, it is remarkably more joyous to build a longer table, instead of a higher fence.

Walk with a Purpose
In 2016 we launched a shoe donation initiative called “Walk with a Purpose”. To date, we managed to distribute just over 40,000 pairs of shoes to less privileged schools in our direct community through the assistance of donor schools, individuals and corporates. Corporates matched a Rand amount for the shoes distributed, and we managed to raise millions to assist less privileged schools with burning needs.
The primary focus is to join hands with schools, corporates, other Public Benefit Organisations and individuals, to collect new and gently worn shoes and distribute them to less privileged children.
The secondary focus is to use financial contributions from donors to uplift creches and schools.
Strong Schools
Strong Schools works alongside under-resourced schools to strengthen leadership, improve educational outcomes and build thriving school communities. Their collaborative model focuses on sustainable change through educator support, learner development, parent involvement and community partnerships.
Calling Academy
Calling Education was established with a vision of providing excellent, affordable education to learners from lower-income communities. Through its Calling Academy campuses, the organisation combines academic excellence, mentorship and strong values-based leadership development to help young people realise their full potential.
Patch
PATCH Helderberg provides hope, help and healing to child survivors of sexual abuse through forensic investigations, therapeutic services, court preparation and prevention programmes. Their work supports vulnerable children and families throughout the Helderberg community.
Village Collective
GraySwan is a founding partner of Village Collective, working together to uplift communities through impactful initiatives. This partnership allows us to support a range of meaningful projects that drive change and create growth opportunities. Our involvement reflects our core values of giving back and empowering individuals, and through joint efforts like our ‘walk with a purpose’ and other community-focused projects, we aim to make a lasting, positive impact. Together, we’re committed to building a brighter future for all.
